The iPhone Pocket is Apple’s newest accessory, created through a collaboration with Japanese fashion house ISSEY MIYAKE. The textile pouch introduces a soft, 3D-knit design made in Japan, and it is designed to hold any iPhone model along with small daily essentials. As a result, the accessory feels both practical and stylish.
A closer look at the new iPhone Pocket
Starting November 14, the iPhone Pocket will be available in select Apple Stores and on apple.com in several countries. It comes in two versions:
- a short model in eight colors
- a long version available in three tones
Because of its flexible knitted structure, the pouch acts like a small textile companion rather than a simple sleeve. It can be slipped into a bag, worn crossbody or carried like a fashion detail.
Why Apple and ISSEY MIYAKE created the iPhone Pocket
ISSEY MIYAKE approaches textiles as a form of expression, and this collaboration reflects that spirit.
According to Yoshiyuki Miyamae, design director at MIYAKE DESIGN STUDIO, the accessory “explores the joy of carrying the iPhone in your own way.”
On Apple’s side, Molly Anderson, Vice President of Industrial Design, highlights a shared appreciation for simplicity and craftsmanship. Furthermore, she explains that the color palette was created to complement existing iPhone models without overwhelming them.
How iPhone Pocket blends tech and fashion
With the iPhone Pocket, Apple continues to merge technology and fashion in subtle ways. The pouch shows how the iPhone has evolved beyond a device. It has become an object people personalize, match to their style and carry like an everyday accessory. Consequently, this collaboration fits naturally with ISSEY MIYAKE’s design philosophy.
